In 2023, WiseBatch partnered with the University of California San Francisco Clinical Toxicology Laboratory to conduct an efficacy study evaluating the performance of the WiseBatch fentanyl and xylazine test strips. The study produced highly encouraging and informative results, while also helping identify opportunities for further refinement and innovation. Following the study, WiseBatch worked closely with our manufacturing partners to enhance both the sensitivity and specificity of our test strips—improving detection of target substances while minimizing cross-reactivity with common drugs and cutting agents.
Building on these advancements, WiseBatch partnered with Vitae Diagnostics in 2025 to conduct a more comprehensive validation study of our updated fentanyl, xylazine, medetomidine, nitazene, and benzodiazepine test strips. The evaluation included testing against 35 fentanyl analogs and more than 50 common drugs and cutting agents to assess both sensitivity and potential cross-reactivity. The results validated significant technical improvements across our product line, demonstrating enhanced accuracy, sensitivity, and overall performance for real-world drug checking applications.
